Moron of the Week

December 14, 2010 by admncc

Hello everyone!  I’m sorry for the delay between posts.  This is the busiest time of the year for my day job and I have very little free time.  So I’m sorry if it seemed like I disappeared for a while.

I’m back and what better way to get started than by naming actor Wesley Snipes as our “Moron of the Week.”  As most of you know, the “Blade” and “Major League” star was sentenced to three years in prison for failing to file income tax returns.  You know…it amazes me when celebrities get themselves into predicaments like this.  Either they’re true idiots or their management teams are worthless.

But regardless, as most of you know, I’m also a big fan of contacting celebrities going through a rough time.  I sent magazine subscriptions to Richard Hatch and encouraged letters of support to Lindsay Lohan.  LOL.  So…if you have nothing else better to do with your time, why not drop Wesley Snipes a letter.  After all, he has three years to get back to you.

For what it’s worth, TMZ reported that Snipes arrived at the airport without an entourage and even rented a car to drive himself to the prison to check in.

I feel for Wesley Snipes…Obviously, you need to pay your taxes, but it’s hard to not be pissed about the behavior of the gov’t regarding Snipes when half of His Royal Highness, King Barry the Great’s cabinet hasn’t or doesn’t pay taxes. They’re not in prison. Congressman Rangle engaged in illegal activity and didnt’ pay taxes, and he still has a seat in congress. This type of behavior is rampant in Washington in both parties. I guess the democrats are the ones who keep getting caught, but never punished.

Back to Snipes…I don’t condone it, but I understand it.

  2. Oh my.

But is this the Martha Stewart type of prison?

  3. Leo Nevoli says:

Several things I want to mention:
    1. Welcome back, I missed you.

    2. I was going to nominate you for the Moron of the Weeks award for not posting an update. It’s not like you don’t have any unpublished posts laying around.

    3. After reading an article about pay websites, I am glad you don’t charge a subscription fee. Although the article mentioned that about 80% were porn sites that just keep charging you a monthly fee and never update their stuff. I am sure if you did that the complaints would not go on deaf ears.

    And finally…
    4. I have already sent Wesley a business card. I am always amazed at how many celebs don’t pay taxes. I mainly blame them, because they have to know what their management is doing for them.

  4. Hal says:

Celebs, trouble. Celebs, jail. Celebs, divorces. Celebs, nothing private about their life. Poor sap.

  5. Cindy says:

Wesley Snipes was the VICTIM of fraud. He is not guilty. Details at

    Rethink who’s the moron.

  6. Tom says:

As a CPA and business adviser in the public accounting practice, I feel slight sympathy for Mr. Snipes. I can’t tell you how many clients my firm has that don’t have a clue what’s going on when it comes to their taxes. Whatever our firm advises them, they most likely do. With that being said, I (and the rest of the firm I work for) are very good at our jobs and provide our clients with sound advice that complies with the current IRS regulations (which is why they trust our decisions). Enough of a plug for my job… Mr. Snipes should have had some idea that he was not paying taxes – after all he does sign the returns. This isn’t New Jack City and even if your living day to day supporting yourself by hustling people on the basketball court with a white guy, the money you win is still taxable.

  7. wendy says:

I saw that on TMZ, what the……….?

  8. Marissa says:

Maybe Snipes is just a REALLY bad procrastinator. I’m already dreading filing my taxes next month. But the thought of being cellmates with some girl named Bubba motivates me to take care of business.

  9. kittycat says:

Yeah Um I am NOT a big fan. But to each his own right?
    Its all good.

    : )

  10. Timmy says:

I was beginning to think that you weren’t coming back….i missed you

  11. TallElf says:

That’s funny. I have driven past FCI in Bradford hundreds of times over the years. Maybe I will stop in the next time!!!

  12. C. Princess says:

Compared to some of the other celebrity mug shots, {Nick Nolte} his doesn’t look too bad.

  13. Jen says:

First, let me congratulate you for getting off your ass and writing a post…finally. I was beginning to think we were going to have to post comments on that last post until one of us got the right answer or something! heh.

Secondly, I think these “stars” are so out of touch with reality that they pay everyone for everything and never pay attention to what is actually going on. Nice to see he actually had to serve time like a regular citizen.

  14. That’s a mighty fine mugshot!
