Readers’ Shots

July 6, 2010 by admncc

Over the last year, the “cell phone shots” segment of this blog has really taken off and become a crowd pleaser.  If you’re new to it, here’s how it works…  Typically it involves cell phone pictures that I’ve taken.  We post them and discuss the complaint involved with them.  Or sometimes we just post them and make fun of them.

Anyway, today’s pictures weren’t taken by me.  They were taken by our readers.  And judging by the content, I’m sure that several different conversations will follow.

Game Cleaning Room – Taken by Mrs. Constant Complainer.  My wife travels quite a bit for work and she gets some great pictures.  But nothing beats this one taken in Centerville, Iowa.  Not only can you stay at this hotel, but you can clean the deer you just killed at the same time.

Religious Van – Taken by Mrs. Constant Complainer.  I love random religious messages.  The “Hell is Real” billboard from last year is still one of my favorites.

Ballpark Mom – Taken by Jen from Hope Studios.  How should you dress for your son’s little league baseball game?  Probably not like this.  Granted, there was a pool party afterwards, but it looks like someone couldn’t wait to show their “goods.”

Road Traveler – Taken by NeoConDon.  This truck looks like it’s falling apart.  Unfortunately, that’s typical in a state like Ohio, where there are no mandatory yearly vehicle inspections.  It’s a road hazzard!

  1. Game cleaning at the motel? DOUBLE EW!

Baseball mom – I noticed that the other ladies had on T-shirts. I guess she was having a hot flash.

I would have brought my old Monopoly game to spiff it up in that special room – it never occurred to me that someone would bring a deer to a hotel to clean!

Yes, a hush fell over the crowd when my bikini mama showed up at the baseball game. This is the same mom who also always bums a sweatshirt, umbrella, chair, because she is never prepared. So, I guess she wanted to be ready for the after game pool party! Woot!

That truck is scary. Imagine the emissions it’s releasing into the atmosphere?

  3. Bwahaha…I totally didn’t get “game” at first. That’s hilarious!!

We should be celebrating these photos…!!!

Game Cleaning – People travel from all over the country to hunt. The fact that someone had the intelligence to put a room in a hotel for that purpose is brilliant…!!! Ideas like this create millionaires.

In a Muslim country, that woman would be stoned to death in front of her children for dressing that way. In the U.S., we criticize people we don’t know because of how they dress, and where they shop. I love how critical and closed minded “people of tolerance” really are.

The guy in that truck was a hard workin’ dude. Maybe that’s all he can afford. Maybe he uses that truck to haul your stuff and drives his BMW on the weekends. Who do you think you are to judge him? As for the “emmissions” B.S., if it didn’t pass the stupid (and illegal) emmisions testing in Ohio, that truck wouldn’t be on the road.

Don is in rare form tonight.

Nice pics. I think the lady at the baseball game was man-hunting. Ha!

  6. Don is always in rare form! And always adding just the right (wing) touch! 🙂

I personally love the Jesus van. As a kid I would make one of those signs and tape it in the window during long trips and keep track of how many people actually honked! 🙂

It’s just perfect for me. . . ha ha. I love unique places like these. I wonder what it smells like?

I think the ballgame lady needs to be taken to the “game” cleaning room. I nominate NCD for the job. 😉

  9. NeoConDon says:

I forgot about the Jesus van. In the intolerant middle eastern countries where people study their “religion of peace”, the van’s owner and the passengers would be hanged on a bridge and burned…

  10. Jen says:

Love the picture from Iowa. I was just down in Iowa for a horse show last month. First time I made it to that state even though I have been living in Minnesota for the past 8 years. Nothing like being able to gut a deer and get a good night’s sleep.

  11. C. Princess says:

I love when you do these posts!

I’ve actually seen bumper stickers that say “Honk for Jesus” or “Honk if you love Jesus.”

  12. TallElf says:

“Take me out after the ball game. Take me out to the crowd. I’ll find me a honey and take him back… pull down my top and show him a rack. So it’s root root root to the left now. If I don’t …. it’s a shame. But it’s 1… 2… 3 strikes your out at my son’s ball game” Seriously lady.

As for the game room, most will field dress the animal, and that is for the actual butchering and wrapping so that they can provide for their families and their male urges of the hunting spirt.

Can’t wait to move to Ohio so that I can save some money on repairs from the annual inspections. NOT proper maintenance is crucial. Wonder if that guy would honk at the van.

  13. TallElf says:

The best part is we can call for reservations. My question is is that the Hotel, or the Cleaning room?

  14. The baseball mom was probably working on her tan 🙂
