Twitter Me This

I’m sorry for not posting last week. I have a huge presentation upcoming at work, so my evening blog time became presentation preparation time.
So to get back into the swing of things, here’s an easy post to respond to. Are you on Twitter? If so, what’s your profile name? Let’s help each other and also make some suggestions on who to follow at the same time. And if you’re not on Twitter, tell us why.
Admittedly, I don’t use Twitter as much as I could or should, so I’m trying to get better at it. But a number of people who actively comment on this blog are on there and have pretty good followings.
So here’s how we’ll do this. For those of you who are Twitter, let us know how to find you and also give us a few suggestions of others worth following. I’ll list some that I know too. And if you’re not on Twitter, it’s time to jump on the bandwagon and consider it.

I’m on Facebook but I don’t use Twitter. I have an account, though. I already spend too much time online. ;-(
I am on twitter but I don’t tweet. I just follow the news, celeb, and sports personalities who do. Watching Jim Carrey’s meltdown over the last couple weeks has been fun. Conan O’Brien is usually pretty funny. I think that I follow about 100 or so people right now and it grows everyday. Lots of fun!
I guess the reason I don’t twitter is that I belong to a few message boards, check the news, and don’t really feel the urge to post “what i’m doing”. Maybe I don’t understand the whole premise but I don’t feel compelled to join that bandwagon at the moment.
I have a twitter account, but I am still not sure how the hell to use it. But it is @jackidyrholm. I think.
I twitter and steer clear of Facebook (which seems like a meat market hook up zone to me). I use it mostly to drive traffic to my blog and business. I have some faves:
@cosmicgirlie is so irreverent and drunk tweets when she goes out on the town. Pretty hilarious chick with a potty mouth.
@herbadmother raises some really thought provoking and controversial issues on her twitter and blog that always get a rise out of readers. I get lots of ideas from her.
@redneckmommy is a southern girl with a tough side. She will kick your ass at soccer practice if she thinks your kid is picking on her kid. Then tweet the world what a pussy you are. Good stuff.
@fakeapstylebook is a hilarious parody of AP Stylebook or the laws that regulate media. It’s worth a peep.
Finally, @shitmydadsays is just this guy who tweets all the crazy quotes that come out of his dad’s mouth. Such as: “Waking up when you got a baby, you feel like you drank a bottle of whiskey the night before, except the shit’s in someone else’s pants.” It’s a twitter must.
I might have to join and follow cosmicgirlie. Sounds right up my alley!
I have a twitter acct that I don’t use. My thoughts are so fleeting that once I blurt it out loud, it’s over. No time to type it out.
No tweeting here. The whole thing is a mystery to me. I have a hard enough time getting my underwear on without it being backwards…which can hurt you know.
I wonder if Tiger Woods’ Twitter account is @”I love boobs”…

I have over 30 Twitter accounts, one for each blog I maintain. They are “branded” accounts which means they follow the “look and feel” of the blog they represent. Each blog targets a specific niche and it’s Twitter account goes out and finds people that are relevant to that niche. I monitor the tweets and when something looks interesting I tweet back, sometimes resulting in a link swap, a guest post or something else of value. I like Twitter because it is ad free, not as spammy as Facebook and I am trying to get better at “Tweet management” with Hootsuite. Film at 11 on that one! honestly, i’m rarely on twitter, but there are a few cool celebrity tweeters out there: john mayer, ashton kutcher, or conan-obrien twitter. as far as normal people, i can’t really recommend anyone. haha
