Moron of the Week Award #7
July 15, 2009 by admncc
Because of his sheer stupidity, rather than accepting nominations, I decided to award Quinton “Rampage” Jackson (of the UFC) the “Moron of the Week Award” for this week.
This is not a sports’ post, for any of my sports hating readers out there. And you don’t even have to like the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) to understand why “Rampage” is a moron.
During a recent interview with reporter, Heather Nichols, “Rampage” started (for lack of a better term) dry-humping Nichols. And Rampage continued to do so during the rest of the one-minute interview. You can view the awkward incident here.
Nichols went on to tell CNN and Sports Illustrated, “At first I was just shocked when he grabbed me, and all I could think was, “Oh my gosh, what is he doing?!” Then I tried to play along a little bit because I knew he was trying to be funny, but after about the first 5-10 seconds, it was just plain awkward. I kept thinking, “What should I do? Knee him? Keep going?” So I decided to keep asking questions, assuming he would stop if I did that. So I asked another question, and he kept going. I asked ANOTHER question, and he kept going. At this point I was just freaking out, but still trying to be a professional and ask all the questions I was assigned to ask, and this has been interpreted by some viewers as me liking it and egging him on. This was definitely not the case. I was hired to do a job, which was to interview Rampage, so I decided to put up with his shenanigans and finish the interview.”
Wow! I don’t know about you, but I think she should have knocked him out. She played it off pretty well though. Also, watch very closely at the end of the video as a producer very cautiously comes up, taps “Rampage’ on the shoulder and tells him to stop.
I’d like to thank Christina Bledsoe from The Star Celeb for bringing this story to my attention. You can view where she first reported on this story here.

Heather Nichols really plays it off well, and stays very professional during it, but she really should have slapped him on camera or knee him.
Yes, “Rampage” does get my vote this week also.
That’s pathetic. She should have whopped him upside the head!
Hmmm, Yes he does deserve the moron of the week award. However, I’m not convinced Nichols could have done anything to stop him, nor should she have. I’ve always found it best to treat guys named “Rampage” like a vicious dog…once they’ve got you it’s best to let them finish humping. J/k, but seriously she was wise to not upset him.
Rampage tends to do stuff like this often, he was able to get away with it when he fought overseas in Japan. There is a video of him on youtube humping Japanese reporters as well.
Here is the video:

It did look like she was going along with it, but she could have done something. What was wrong with him? Did he get hit too many times in the head? That’s just awkward.
MMA Gumbo, thanks for sharing that additional link.
Rampage is a pig. I think the reporter should have said something, but Rampage did tower over her, so I’m not surprised that she didn’t.
That video was awkward indeed. Good description. I think the reporter handled herself better than I would have. He would have gotten slapped. I support you giving him the award CC.
I guess that’s where Heather and I are different. I would have kneed him in the nuts, strictly told him to back up, and then continued on with the interview. This is why people continue to act like they do because no one ever puts them in their place. No one would have thought it rude or bitchy of Heather if she had done so. I know I wouldn’t have.
And thank you for the reference 🙂
I agree with Christina here. But I’ll go further… This reporter did the most UNPROFESSIONAL thing by allowing this “interview” to continue. I know we’re not talking about a legit mainstream sport here, and that’s why this isn’t really news, but the more often women allow themselves to be treated this way, the more the men will continue to respond with further disgusting behavior. This “reporter” had an opportunity to make a huge statement in a very public way, and she failed.
Well now this is cause for celebration! I agree Don. She failed miserably.
You’re wrong on one account Don. This was not an act of a man. Men don’t treat women that way, scum does.
You beat me to this one bro, I saw it last week and was honestly blown away by his stupidity, pathetic at best.
I can’t believe I’m going to say this, but Libby is right too…I mean correct. He’ll never be right.
Unless this was broadcast on live TV, there was no reason for her to “play along” and continue giggling and questioning him. I would understand if she was flustered and maybe didn’t know what to do, but a meaningful look at her producer would have gone further than flirting while questioning him about a love story movie starring the two of them.
I’m sorry, maybe I should be saying she’s the victim, but it looked to me like they were both playing off each other and she realized how unprofessional it looked later. Her response is the sort of thing that makes men believe women secretly like this kind of behavior.
Those are excellent comments, Jennifer Juniper. It’s real easy for anyone to sit here and say “hey, looks like she wants it.” It’s very possible this was planned, and he went farther than she wanted him too (there clearly was a lack of comfort on her part).
This guy is a loser, no doubt, but she had a great opportunity to slam a door open to expose this loser mentality, and she didn’t. I just hope that she doesn’t meet a guy down the road that saw that interview and thinks he can be a pig to attract her.
I hope that everyone that has a child that’s old enough to understand what was going on had them watch this video, and explain how the loser shouldn’t behave this way, and the woman has a duty to knee him in the balls.
