Freak?
July 10, 2009 by admncc
First off, keep the comments coming on Gina’s below-Guest Post. It’s turning into a very interesting discussion.
But as far as my “Freak?” title for this post, that question is directed to one person, and one person alone – actor, Morgan Freeman. Multiple media sources are reporting that Freeman is planning to marry his step-granddaughter. This girl is the granddaughter of Freeman’s first wife.
I don’t really know what else to say except, “WTF.”

I have mixed feelings about things like this. I’m a huge fan of Woody Allen’s work, and the fact that Soon-yi doesn’t have his blood makes the whole thing not as bad as people’d like to think. Besides, Mia Farrow is batshit crazy anyway, right?
The fact that Freeman is marrying a step-daughter won’t be the biggest challenge for the marriage, it will be the age difference.
Maybe someday a guy will marry a step-great-granddaughter, and pwn both Woody and Morgan. 🙂
Uh…no. It doesn’t matter if they actually aren’t related through blood.
There is betrayal of the wife who would never guess that her husband was sleeping with her granddaughter.
There is betrayal of the girl who was reported to be only 17 at the time the affair began.
There is betrayal of what most people would argue is an implicit taboo in modern society to marry within one’s family.
I’m guessing Mr. Freeman assumes he has done enough movies in his lifetime.
Ick. That’s about all I can say. Blood or no, there’s just something perversely wrong about sleeping with someone you call “Grandpa”.
I don’t even see what they would have in common to sustain a relationship. Too weird.
They would make great guests on The Jerry Springer Show.
I think C.Princess is right. Haha. This is truly an odd story. What a weirdo.
This IS bizzare if it’s true..
Marriage is a state’s rights issue, and I would assume this is something that would be legal in most or all states. But an investigation into the ages of these two, and the circumstances under which the relationship began is in order.
On another note, it’s good to see that Mr. Freedman has recovered from that life threatening car crash he experienced a few years ago…for some reason, the details were never really released.
First time visitor. Cool blog. I’d like to point out that if the articles referenced are true, Morgan met her when she was 17.
EEEWWW….OMG…has he lost his damn mind?? Evolutionary psychology will say that older men will always be attracted to younger women…and that’s fine. But when they are even remotely related to you, whether blood related or not, you need to stop and think for a second. There’s an old creepy guy at work who’s like 65 and is always trying to prey on 21 yr olds. He takes them on trips and buys them things. The young girls usually take the free stuff and then run. It’s all just really creepy to me.
It’s so strange to me when men marry women so much younger (and I have to assume she is much younger). Throw in the kind-of related thing and the whole thing creeps me out.
On the flip side, as I get older in years I realize I feel no different inside, so that could be the reason he is drawn to her but what is her excuse?
Yeah that story made me super duper sick. Ewwww.
I just think it’s weird for anyone to leave their spouse for another member of the family.
I agree with Geek.
That is completely disturbing. I don’t care if they are not directly related. Beyond the age difference, that is a betrayal of the first wife. Yuck!
If this was the 14th century I wouldn’t have a problem with this, especially if Freeman was a Lord or Baron…but dude…it’s not the 14th century. I’m one to believe there’s a little truth to every rumor, so if this is even a little bit true it’s disgusting.
I’m not condoning the betrayal of family, but in the words of Woody “The heart wants what it wants!”
You always get the hot topics man, I love it!
Sorry, the thought of this entire situation makes me ill.
