The “Moron of the Week Award” is back after a short vacation. And wow, do I have a great one for you today!
Congratulations to Jackie Knott, of Alabama, for being this week’s award-winner. And thanks to Leo Nevoli for bringing this story to my attention.
According to an article by The Smoking Gun, Knott was arrested on October 3rd for “allegedly having her teenage daughter ride in a cardboard box atop her minivan as it traveled along an interstate highway.” Knott told police officers that her 13-year-old daughter, Haley, “was serving as a human paperweight to keep the box from falling off the vehicle.”
Knott also told police officers, according to an article by The Huffington Post, that “it was safe” to have her daughter ride on the roof “because she had the box secured to the van with a clothes hanger.”
Um, yeah, yikes, do I need to say anything else? Jackie, have you ever heard of breaking down a box?

Too funny, reminds me of the time I drove from Oceanside, CA to Truth Or Consequences, NM. I was on the interstate and was coming up behind a VW bus and it looked like there was a sign on top of it. As I got closer I realized it was a naked girl! Darn good lookin one too, I felt like Chevy Chase in Vacation when Christy Brinkley pulls up alongside in her convertable. I looked over at my wife, made sure she was REALLY asleep and I slowed down to take a better look.

Hey, guess what? I just got a new phone. I had to go to Verizon and sign a contract. They gave me a short tutorial then sent me home with a 400 page book.
I have 3 kids…they sent me home with some hospital t-shirts and 3 diapers.
I guess this lack of instruction really affects some people. Who knew?

OMG….did the daughter agree to this or was she forced? Because at 13 yrs old, she is old enough to understand the danger involved, but if she was forced by a parent, then that is a different story
